Important Notice - 17th December

Following the government announcement recently, NHS England have declared a major incident and advised GP Practices to suspend all non-essential work to deliver the COVID booster vaccinations.

Because of this FROM MONDAY 20 DECEMBER we will only be dealing with urgent medical problems as staff are being deployed to vaccination centres.

All routine appointments have been cancelled.

Please do not telephone with COVID queries as we will only have one member of our reception team answering the telephones between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm.

From the 15th June all patients who are due to attend Parkview Medical Practice are required to wear their own face coverings to gain entry. Face coverings do not need to be a medical standard. A cloth face covering should cover your mouth and nose while allowing you to breathe comfortably. It can be a simple scarf or bandana that ties behind the head.

People vaccinated in England who have had a full course of the COVID-19 vaccine can demonstrate their COVID-19 vaccination status for international travel

Vaccines given either in clinical trials, in one of the devolved nations or abroad do not go into the NHS App (yet)

Important Information About The Practice During Coronavirus

The surgery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30pm. If you have an urgent problem during these times please ring the surgery. At all other times ring NHS 111.

Requests via eConsult for non-urgent problems can be made between 8am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. The practice will respond within 2 working days

Due to COVID we are operating what is known as total triage, this is a virtual appointment. Your GP or nurse will review your problem and will then, depending on your needs

  • offer you advice via text
  • offer you a telephone call
  • offer you a video call
  • ask to see you in person (face to face) or
  • navigate you to other services

If you need to order a repeat prescription please use the App on your smart phone, order via the website or post your request through the door/drop into the box

Please only attend the surgery if we ask you to. It’s important that you arrive at the time we ask you to attend and don’t forget to wear a face covering or mask.

In line with social distancing rules the surgery must limit the number of patients in the waiting room.

Booking Appointments

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the UK we are changing how we book all face to face appointments. We ask all patients to use Econsult to access our service. This will ensure that we are able to fully assess risk before appointments are booked at the surgery.

As you are aware the practice uses eConsult and patients are advised to seek advice via this service. Please visit the services section on our website for further information and access to the eConsult service

In line with services moving back to business and usual processes, the dedicated COVID Patient Advice Line has now transferred back to the CCG Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS).

If you require urgent medical attention on Saturdays and Sundays or between the hours of 6.30pm & 8.00am please call 111


Please be aware that eConsults should only been completed in our core working hours of 8.00am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday and outside of these times and on weekends, if you require medical attention, please call 111.
Any eConsults submitted on a Friday after 18.30pm will not be looked at until the following Tuesday
